Student Life at James F. Rhodes High School

At James F. Rhodes High School, we believe some of the most meaningful lessons and lasting memories of high school happen beyond the classroom. On behalf of the Rhodes Administration, we encourage every student to become an active member of our school community by finding something that allows them to connect, compete, create, lead, and belong.

Students have opportunities to explore their interests through programs and activities such as JROTC, Drama, Chess, Gaming, and CTAG, led by Ms. O’Neill. Throughout the school year, additional clubs, activities, leadership opportunities, and special events provide students with ways to meet new people, develop new skills, and become more connected to the Rhodes community.

Getting involved is about more than having something to do after school. Participation can help students develop confidence, responsibility, leadership, teamwork, communication skills, and relationships with peers and trusted adults throughout the building.

Athletics have long been an important part of the history and culture of James F. Rhodes High School. Generations of Rams have proudly represented our school and the Old Brooklyn community, and we are excited for today’s students to continue building upon that tradition.

Students are encouraged to speak with a member of the James F. Rhodes Administration to learn about the next steps for potentially starting a new club or activity. Some of the best school traditions begin because a student was willing to bring forward an idea.
